Who We Are
YKD is a landscape architectural firm dedicated to delivering exceptional designs and innovative solutions for our clients. The principal of the firm, Yunsoo Kim, has designed and overseen the construction of prominent landscape projects across the globe.
Our mission is to provide a highly focused and dedicated level of quality services to our clients, empowered by the vast knowledge and experience that Yunsoo has accumulated over his 30 years in the industry. At YKD, we take great pride in our ability to devote a great deal of personal attention to each and every one of our clients.
We approach every project as a team player, and bring together owners, users, and consultants in a collaboration of knowledge, needs, and efforts to achieve superior results. From concept design to construction administration, we work closely with our clients, stakeholders, permitting agencies, contractors, and consultants to bring outstanding designs to reality.

Meet the Principal
Yunsoo Kim
PLA, ASLA
In over 30 years of professional career, Yunsoo Kim, an award winning Landscape Architect, has devoted himself to creating and building beautiful, timeless design in the U.S., China, South America, and Korea. His work spans the public and private sectors and includes waterfronts, schools and corporate campuses, streetscapes, parks, mixed-use developments, and transit-oriented development (TOD).
Yunsoo approaches landscape design with a desire to enhance the physical environment and well-being of the public. He is energized by the building of beautiful design as it is conceived through innovative design and thorough documentation and construction management.
Yunsoo’s strength as a landscape architect is his ability to understand and accommodate other disciplines’ work including contractors who influence the outcome of landscape design and construction. This unique ability along with Yunsoo’s meticulous nature has been instrumental in helping avoid conflicts before they become problems and limiting costly project delays.
Yunsoo has contributed to projects for numerous agencies, such as the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, US Navy, Port of Long Beach, Port of Los Angeles, Los Angeles World Airport, CalTrans, and various municipalities in Southern California.
