GOODS MOVEMENT WORKFORCE TRAINING FACILITY

Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach Goods Movement Workforce Training Facility is a new training facility to be developed at 1400 E. Anchorage Road in the Port of Los Angeles. The Training Facility will address the rapidly changing needs of the industry by attracting new workers, addressing skill shortages, and providing opportunities for workforce up-skilling and/or re-skilling to avoid future workforce shortages.

The project includes training facilities for operation of ship-to-shore cranes, top handlers, side picks, and heavy lifts; and basic training for lashing stations, maintenance and repair. In addition, the design should include indoor facilities for classroom training and conference rooms, as well as parking.

YKD will provide landscape design that screens the facility with native plants and integrates seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. The landscape will also incorporate bioswales and other stormwater management features to minimize runoff from the site.
